Everything That Makes New Orleans Unforgettable...

front of hotel The Quarter
At the Chateau Lemoyne, the music and excitement, the quaint shops and unique architecture of the Vieux Carre' are all around you. So is the quiet sense of place that pervades a neighborhood where people have lived and worked for nearly 300 years.

The History
When you stroll through the Chateau LeMoyne's four courtyards or relax in your deluxe guest room or suite, you are sheltered by structures designed and built 140 years ago by James Gallier, The hotel incorporates four Gallier-designed Greek Reival townhouses built in the 1840s and lovingly restored to their original grace and grandeur when the Chateau LeMoyne was built 130 years later.

Ambience
The artisans who laid the brick walls and hewed the cypress beams for Gallier's townhouses might well have included men who fought alongside Andrew Jackson at the Battle of New Orleans, or perhaps even buccaneered with Jean Lafitte and Dominique you. That's something to ponder while admiring their handiwork in rooms graced with period furniture echoing the tastes of the wealthy merchants and aristocrats who commissioned them.

picture of bedroom Luxury
Most of North America was still a wilderness when New Orleans became a city of sophistication and culture. That flair for luxury is reflected today in the Bienville Suite in one of the Gallier-designed townhouses, with its spacious living room for relaxation or entertaining and two separate bedrooms. The exposed bricks and cypress beams of the Garret Suite's spacious sunken bedroom/sitting room evoke the days of carriages, hoop skirts and duels under the oaks.

For those preferring modern luxury, (and for honeymooners) there is the Executive Suite, with its private whirlpool and sauna enjoining a splendid bedroom/sitting room, with a canopied four-poster bed and a superb stereo system.

Guests who want the amenities of a suite on a smaller scale can request on of the Gallier-designed Creole Quarters, with separate sitting room and bedroom.

Food
Sclafani's is an outstanding New Orleans restaurant with a 50-year reputation. Now with a new bistro in the Chateau LeMoyne that has romantic courtyard dining. Chefs Peter and Gino Sclafani serve tantalizing Creole Italian dishes like soft-shell crawfish with Creole meuniere sauce, pasta jambalaya, and white chocolate bread pudding. Finest wines from Italy or California. Superb!

picture of courtyard Music
Hurricanes...Sazeracs...brandy milk puches...these are some famous New Orleans drinks you can enjoy in the comfortable lounge at Chateau LeMoyne. Or, ask for any drink you like! Good music is part of it all, including a live New Orleans jazz combo on weekends. Try your luck on the video poker machine! A great spot to make friends, or bring friends, day or night.

Business
The French Quarter lies just across Canal Street from the New Orleans' Central Business District. At the Chateau LeMoyne, you're a five-minute cab ride from most of the city's business meeting to you in one of our fully equipped, splendidly served meeting rooms.

Relaxation
In the city they call "The Big Easy," winding down is an art that the visitor can practice in style at the Chateau LeMoyne. It's an exquisite jewel of a hotel, just large enough to offer every amenity from a heated swimming pool to room service. Order from Sclafani's tempting menu and enjoy excellent cuisine. Casino gaming...riverboat cruising...fabulous shopping...all are close by at Chateau LeMoyne. You can walk to both riverboat and land-based casinos. Or stroll to three different shopping malls. River cruises are also great fun... and it's all just steps away.
